Big wind, big waves, big day at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup
If they ever invent a 4x4 RIB the photographers and film crews that covered today's proceedings at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup will be in the market for it. A one-hour postponement saw the wind build from zip to 20 knots and more. With the wind came the sea - short, sharp and steep. Great in a maxi, dreadful in a small motorboat.

Jotun storm to victory and the European Title
Jotun's Inge Brigt Aarbakke and Jorn Tandberg were celebrating the team's first major title in over a decade, after winning today's Romanian Grand Prix to clinch the European Championship by one point from the unlucky Victory 1 crew of Mohammed Al Marri and Nadir Bin Hendi, with Qatar 95 finishing second and Victory 7 coming home in third place.

Fifteen Boating Service Officers from NSW are undergoing a refresher course on marine compliance and legislation at Soldiers Point Port Stephens. The final day of the course is in a mock court and is the culmination of extensive classroom and on-water activities.

Coral Princess Cruises will wrap up its 25th Anniversary year with a celebratory 12-night cruise of New Zealand’s east coast, hosted by company founders Vicki and Tony Briggs, who pioneered expedition-style cruising in Australia a quarter of a century ago.

God Bless the Spirit Of Mystery
Renowned Cornish sailor Pete Goss held a naming ceremony this bank holiday Monday to officially name his newest boat, Spirit of Mystery. Named by Diana Berry, a direct descendent of six of the seven original crew members, the boat has received worldwide attention in recent months. The official naming ceremony took place at Newlyn Fish Festival - home to the original ‘Mystery’.
